My Project Topic Brainstorm

Dragons:

Ever since I was little, I've always had a fascination with dragons. I believe it all started when I read the Hobbit. Nowadays dragons stories are mainstream, but even then, I come to realize that I actually don't know many good dragon stories. In this project, I would like to learn more about dragons and retell some of the stories in a more modern perspective. The book Dragons and Dragon Lore seemed like an interesting start.

Arabian Nights:

This is one of the topics that seems vaguely familiar, but I actually don't know much about it. Other than Aladdin and the Wonderful Lamp, I don't know any of the other stories. The stories seem really interesting, and I would like to learn more about them. For the project, I thought it would be fun retelling Aladdin story from the Genie's perspective, and also elaborate on the backstory on why an entity with such power, could be so imprisoned.

Creation Stories:

I have always had a thing for creation stories. I don't know why but I supposed is in all of us to seek answers as to how the universe came to be. I like learning about creation stories, I think they are particularly creative, and you might even get a peek of the culture or worldview of their people. For the project, I thought it would be fun to make a creation story that takes elements from other creation stories around the world, even the Big Bang. Sort of like the ultimate creation story. The list of creation myths is a great place to start looking at the different creation stories.

Brother's Grimm:

I think that Brother's Grimm stories are a classic. Sleeping Beauty, Hansel & Gretel, Rapunzel, Little Red Cap, Snow-White, etc. However, there are some stories that I saw in the index that I was not familiar with. For the project, I would like to either explore some of the lesser-known tales or create a big story where some of the well-known characters interact together in an adventure.
